Dear Parent/Guardian,

First, we hope you and your family are doing well during these extremely trying and unprecedented times. This year’s 5th grade class at Neeta School was in the middle of our Law Enforcement Against Drugs (L.E.A.D.) program, when COVID-19 arrived. Our normal scheduling allows ample time to complete all lessons by May, followed by our L.E.A.D. Graduation/Beach Party in June.

Due to COVID-19 and the closing of our schools for the remainder of the school year, we are unable to continue teaching. Teaching remotely is not possible at this time and would not be beneficial for building the relationship between students and police. Our commitment to the students and this program will not be overcome by COVID-19.

After speaking with Chief Robert Dugan and Superintendent Anthony Dent, all parties agreed that the 2020 – 5th grade students should complete the L.E.A.D. program. With that, our current 5th grade students will complete the L.E.A.D. program when they enter 6th grade and attend a Graduation/Beach Party with the 5th grade students in June 2021.

We look forward to a new school year and teaching this effective curriculum to your child. If you have any questions or concerns please contact us at 609-654-2156. Stay safe.
